London Fashion Week: London Style Collective at Kitts in Sloane Square

Maxine Jordan modeling for the London style collective, a platform for emerging talent during London Fashion Week, where we saw a mixture of african prints, Lady Gaga esque inspirations with more simple knits and neon colours. A lot of inspiration for one show.

Post Modernism: Style and Subversion 1970-1990 At the V@A from 24 September 2011 to the 8 January 2012.

Make sure not to miss this big upcoming exhibition opening at the V&A, which will present the postmodernism movement through music, art, film, fashion and architecture. Postmodernism being hard to define as well as thought by some as very controversial also brought a lot of freedom to art and design, with the use of vibrant colours, exaggerated structures and a strong hint of sarcasm. Some believe it may be too soon to dedicate an exhibition to the movement, but the curators are first to reassure the exhibition will explore the subject properly. Some of the exhibits include drawings from Philip Johnson’s controversial AT@T building in New York, as well the Dollar Sign by Andy Warhol. There will also be some fashions creations by none other then Madame Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfield, as well as clothes from the Comme des Garcons range. One of G-Mag’s highlights includes a reconstruction of singer/actor Grace Jone’s extraordinary maternity dress.
